Yes, STAX is a CARB-approved emissions control system for container ships, auto carriers/ro-ros, and in 2025, tanker vessels. For a listing of our current CARB Executive Orders, click here.

STAX effectively eliminates oxides of nitrogen (NOx), particulate matter less than 10 micrometers in diameter (PM10) and less than 2.5 micrometers (PM2.5), diesel particulate matter (DPM), and reactive organic gasses (ROG).

STAX features the industry’s largest placement arm (boom) that can reach any stack on any vessel.

Our proprietary connection system is adaptable to all types of exhaust pipe configurations without the need for vessel modification.

The STAX system is powered by Tier 4F gensets running on renewable diesel that meets or exceeds grid-neutral requirements. In the future, some STAX systems will be powered by a Hydrogen Fuel Cell.

No. STAX’s unique technology does not generate any waste when processing vessel emissions.

STAX offers emissions capture and control services for a nominal hourly fee. Pricing is based on industry and vessel class. STAX does not require costly vessel or berth retrofitting, utility fees, or Capital expenditures (CapEx). For individual pricing, please request a proposal here.
